Tom’s Story:

Born in Ainsworth, Nebraska, graduated from high school in Columbus, Nebraska, Tom received his draft notice in early 1967 (while still in high school), but voluntarily enlisted in the Army. Consequently, after only 5 days following his high school graduation, Tom began his Army service. Tom served in Vietnam from January 1968 through February 1969.
