I had the pleasure of meeting Capt. Grongborg’s widow Judy and her daughter Gwen at a recient event held by NVVM. I can certainly feel the love and respect that this family has for their husband and father, and that not a day goes by that Grongborg is not remembered. Although he is gone, his spirit remains an active part of this family. Gwen and her sister were fortunate that she had a mother who would share every second of their father’s life with them; and put aside her own personal grief so that her daughters would know this great man who sacrificed so much for our freedom.
