Bio:
Graduated from Benson High School in 1961. Attended technical school in Kansas City, Missouri, for one year. Returned to Omaha and worked as a brakeman switchman with Union Pacific. Joined the Navy Reserves to fulfill his military obligation, but decided to go regular Navy in 1964, graduated boot camp from Great Lakes in 1964. Due to his high aptitude in electronics, Michael was accepted into the Navy’s electronics program in Covington, Tennessee. Michael graduated as an E-4 Aviation Fire Control Technician, AQB, and was assigned to the Vigilante aircraft, Reconnaissance Squadron 12, RA-5C, the “Heavy 12.” Michael was deployed TAD (Temporary Assigned Duty) to the USS Saratoga CV A-60 for Mediterranean deployment. Promoted to E-5 and was deployed TAD to the USS Constellation CV-64 for the Vietnam campaign. 1968 Michael got out of the Navy and returned home with his new wife (Danna), young daughter (Tammy) and son (Michael). In 1969, Michael went to work with OPPD as an Instrument and Control Technician, similar work he had done while in the Navy.
Michael was remarried to Cindy Hinman and raised his stepson, Randy Hinman, in Omaha. He again remarried Linda Moon and lived in Le High Acres, Florida, for 20 years. He moved back to Omaha Nebraska, where he currently resides.
