Dennis Allen
Dennis was born and raised in South Sioux City, Dakota County, Nebraska. He graduated in 1966 from South Sioux City High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in January, 1968.
Dennis served in Vietnam from June, 1968 to August, 1970. He served with the 82nd Engineer Company (Water Supply) in the III & IV Corps areas of Vietnam. His job was to supply allied forces with clean, safe water. As the operation NCO, Dennis was kept busy setting up points on fire support bases, convoying supplies, plus flying throughout the III & IV Corps areas checking various locations' water output quantity and quality.
Dennis now resides across the river in Sioux City, Iowa and invites all his fellow Veterans to come up to South Sioux City, Nebraska to visit the Siouxland Freedom Park where they have a 1/2 scale version of the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Freedom Rock, and more.
