Joseph A. Lesko
Joe was born on July 6, 1930 in Pleasant Unity, Pennsylvania. Joe married Anne Marie in Eveux, France while stationed in Europe. They were blessed with two children: Olivier and Nicole. Joe was career military, with over 25 years in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1973 as a TSGT.. The family settled in Omaha, Nebraska for the remainder of his years. He served in the Korean (dates unknown) and Vietnam (1964 to 1965) War. Joe's last assignment in the Panama Canal Zone on Howard Air Force Base was very special to the entire family. After retirement, he worked as a security guard at Methodist Hospital and a driver at NAPA Auto parts. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, movies and TV, reading, working puzzles and spending time with his family. He held very dear his wedding and the birth of his children. Joe was a quiet, humble, and unselfish man, who was honest and a good listener. He believed in integrity and stood strong with his beliefs no matter what the situation. He did not tolerate any one messing with his family. Joe enjoyed country western music and John Wayne westerns. He liked stuffed cabbage rolls, diet coke and was a regular customer at McDonalds. When asked how you are feeling today, he responded "Pretty good, pretty good", and he never complained. Family was everything to Joe and he worked hard to provide the best for them.
