My twin brother Dennis and I joined the Army together in 1968. Due to the family policy in the Army, I was sent to a radar site in Italy and Dennis was sent to Vietnam. My other brother, Tom, was an officer in the US Navy at the same time. Being twins and growing up tied to the hip with each other including boot camp, the day we left for our duty stations was one of the saddest of my life as I wasn't sure I'd ever see Dennis again. Luckily, we both came home to Wood River and have lived happily with our families together ever since.
