Harvey served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 during World War II. Harvey attained the rank of Tech Sergeant and served in the Pacific Theater’s South Pacific area, Luzon, the Marshall Islands, and finally in Okinawa before he was honorably discharged in 1945, at the conclusion of the war.
