I went to Saigon in November 1968 for two months. I was then sent to Vang Tau for ten months. I drove a convoy to Saigon on eight trips and was ambushed every time
My twin brother Daniel was sent to a radar site in Italy and my brother Thomas was on a ship in the Navy at this same time.
I was promoted to E-5 Sergeant in July 1969 and made the Non Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of the warehouse. In October of 1969 there was an audit of our two-million-dollar warehouse and I received the best audit for all of Southeast Asia, which included Hawaii, Japan and Korea at the time.
