I, too, had a MIA bracelet for CDR Thomas Scheurich. I was cleaning out my jewelry box today(June 18, 2025) and found it. I decided to see if I could find the status of him. Much to my amazement I found a website that listed him as found….as of April 23, 2025! This year….after all this time. I wore his bracelet faithfully for many years. I am so grateful that he was found. I was wondering if I could send it to the family if they wanted it. God Bless.

Hi Kristen.
Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation does not have Captain Scheurich’s contact information, but we can suggest you contact the DPAA (Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency) to see if they can help you with contact with his family. Here’s a link you can use to contact the DPAA: https://dpaa-mil.sites.crmforce.mil/dpaaContactUs
Thanks again for your message and your interest in getting the bracelet to Capt. Scheurich’s family!

I received a POW/MIA bracelet from a woman by the name of Donna Royce. She obtained this bracelet when she was a young student and has held on to it for many years. Royce comes from a family of Navy Veterans and wanted this bracelet to be returned to Cmdr. Scheurich’s family, or a memorial. We are trying to locate a family member to donate the bracelet to, or to donate the bracelet to NVVM to select a museum, educational site, or some other respectful site, of their choice. Rest in Peace Cmdr. Scheurich. You will be remembered by all generations, past and present. Dottie Barickman NVVM Education History Committee. (01.16.2024).
